Full glasses fool wine drinkers By Alice Hudson Large glasses can contain six standard drinks. Super-sized servings and gigantic glasses are tricking wine-lovers into drinking much more than they think. Fashionable goblets seen everywhere from family restaurants to kitchenware stores can hold up to six standard 100ml drinks - and generous bartenders are serving up to two standard drinks with every pour. Health authorities are worried by the trend, which is backed by a Herald on Sunday survey. www.nzherald.co.nz/section/6/story.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=10491564I've noticed this myself... and it may be helpful to know that dry red wine is all of 75 calories per glass and 2 Weight Watchers points a piece. Two servings is 3.5 WW points.
A glass of it a day is very healthy for you, but that's one serving... not 4-5!In vino veritas, Andrea
